4 years benzo free

It's been 4 years since I stopped taking benzos.  I was longterm user and my taper and withdrawal was horrendous. I just wanted to get on here and say thank you for this site because I don't know how I would have done this without the moral support here. I wouldn't exactly say I am a success story I deal with anxiety and depression regularly enough. I am grateful to be done with benzos.

PS : I also finally managed to quit smoking cigarettes a year ago.

Congratulations on this milestone. In September I'll be marking 4 years since my jump, so not far behind you.  Unfortunately some of the issues that brought us to benzos in the first place can continue to challenge us.  But for me, they pale in comparison to the horrors of withdrawal. Also the skills we learn to get us through withdrawal equip us better to handle our issues. I hope this is true for you. Congratulations again!  We won a mighty battle!
