My story in short

[Se...]

Recommended Posts

I was on Lorazapam by a doctor several years ago and can't remember the dose but it was high. I was switched over to 40mg of Valium to taper off. I have been tapering for almost 2 years. I am down to 5 mg of Valium going to 4mg. I suffered many physical problems and have missed many work days. I felt the doctor didn't understand my symptoms nor the ER, or specialist when things would get severe. They have been very dismissive. Even my boss and coworkers did not understand. Even thinking I was on a street drug when I was not. Very hurtful. I learned of BenzoBuddies after watching a YouTube clip were somebody stated how much it helped them though his process of success. Said this happened to them outside of the group.

Hi Setfree   Welcome to Benzobuddies

We are glad to have you here.  You’ve joined a great community, sorry you’ve had a tough time.  The same happened to me years ago, no one understood, very little support,  it’s really sad that it’s still happening today.  You’ve come a long way from 40 mgs Valium, it’s good to see your almost at the end of your taper,  well done.  I had to slow my taper right down making smaller reductions, once I got to the lower doses.    With support and encouragement from members, you will successfully be benzo free. Take a look around the forum, post questions for our members to respond.

I'll leave you some links to resources:

You might want to read through prof Heather Ashton’s Manual, I found it to be a very valuable resource for learning about benzos and the effect they have on our body.  I’m so grateful to her, It was  reassuring for me seeing the list of  possible withdrawal symptoms and learning they are temporary. symptoms
