Head cold congestion

I have a terrible head  cold with lots of pressure in my head. I’m not sure what is safe to take while tapering. Has anyone used a decongestant and been okay. I was thinking about taking DayQuil but am nervous it will make things worse. Is there anyone who could advise me on this. I try to not take anything not Tylenol or ibuprofen. I have gastritis so am very sensitive. Thank you

I’ve read some members use antihistamines without without issue, I read its not as effective as a decongestant but if you’re worried that might work for you. 

 

Personally, they don’t work for me.  I took Benadryl for sleep many years before taking benzo’s and it wired me.  I read it can cause excitability in children, I wasn’t a child but it sure revved me up.

I had a rotten cold a few months ago and I took Clor-tabs at night for a few nights so I could sleep. They didn't bother me (I'm pretty sensitive to meds) and seemed to do the trick. I slept better.
