Switch from A to K bad idea?

I have been taking ativan daily for almost 3 years. My dr. decided to switch me from 1mg of ativan twice a day to .5mg of klonopin twice a day. I started taking the k yesterday and have found that it is giving me a ton of energy instead of sedation. I could not sleep last night. Has this happened to anyone? I really do not like it. Would it be better to go back to the ativan and try a c/o to valium?

Have you checked to see if Ativan and Klonopin are equivalent? It looks like you're now taking half the amount but I'm not sure how those two compare.

In my personal opinion I would try to cross over to valium if I were you. Or you could even taper directly from Ativan using a daily liquid micro taper. I believe I’ve heard that K is  extremely potent and produces severe withdrawal ...  If I were in your position I would stay away.
