Guest [NM...]
Thanks NMSafe - those are great tips. I am too trying not to obsess and worry about sleep - I just wish I wasn't jolted awake so much at 4am (sometimes earlier) and then can't go back to sleep. I've heard a low dose of Trazadone (25mg) before bed can help - but of course, another drug. Haven't tried Unisom yet either...didn't work for me years ago. SO glad you are getting better sleep. I wish I could sleep on my head too like your husband I tried trazadone in 2003 briefly. I slept a tad better but within a couple of weeks I wasn’t sleeping that much better and my mindless eating was driving me crazy AND daytime drowsiness/hangover. I quit taking it. I never had ongoing insomnia until I was on a benzodiazepine and SSRI/SNRIs. I’ve been off antidepressants since 2015 completely. Also I’ve been taking Benadryl or doxilamine for 14 months and I’m even tapering THAT because I don’t want to risk having rebound insomnia. I think I’ve been psychologically dependent on antihistamines for sleep for a while.
