I think the doctors and pharmacists need to step up to the plate when it comes to warning patients about side effects and withdrawal effects. It's serious, and it should be their job to prevent such problems where possible. Like you, I wasn't at all aware of the major issues that long-term use of a benzodiazepine could pose. I think that's why many of us are here on BB. The information is available, though, and doctors and pharmacists need to know what they're prescribing and selling so that they can protect unsuspecting patients. It's their duty to do so.
