Hormone hits anyone!!!!

I want to ask you a question to see if anyone understands... Ok sometimes I'll be laying here and all the sudden out of nowhere I will get hit by all these horrible sensations at the same times and its really scary and it makes me feel like I'm gonna die or something. It lasts like 30-45 minutes and leaves me with so much fear.. I freeze up and can't move till its over and then when it is I can't move for like an hour.. My girlfriend says they are hormone hits and that hormones hit on GABA receptors and since ours are down we are very sensitive to any changes.. Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone or something like it.. It's awful
