Greetings.  I stopped taking benzos 6 years ago after being on them for 30 years.  One of the effects that has bothered me the most without stopping for about 5 years is that strong knot or pressure in the pit of my stomach a little below the sternum.  Sometimes it is painful, but it makes it difficult for me to breathe properly, impossible to fill my lungs or breathe with my diaphragm.  Does the same thing happen to you? Do you know of any method to remove or mitigate that effect?.

Sounds like anxiety to me. I have had anxiety and depression all my life and it always manifests itself as a knot in the gut, so tight its difficult to breathe.

Relaxation techniques, yoga, meditation and breathing awareness all helps to relieve anxiety.
