[fu...]
Given that Luvox increases the effect of diazepam, should I switch benzos before tapering? I feel I am already in tolerance regarding pregabalin and/or diazepam. If so, how should it be done? I direct switch or a crosstaper?
[Pa...]
What are you thinking about crossing to? Edit: Just realized you mentioned what drug in the subject title.
[Br...]
As you probably know, lorazepam (Ativan) has a short half life. Typically it makes more sense to switch from lorazepam to a benzo with a longer half life such as diazepam (Valium) in order to taper. Interdose withdrawal is more of a risk with lorazepam because it has a short half life. Crossing over to diazepam can be helpful in some cases because it makes it possible to take one dose a day of diazepam versus multiple daily doses of lorazepam to maintain a steady level of the drug in the blood stream. [Re...]
Why wouldn't you taper the benzo last and taper the other meds first? That is what is typically recommended as far as I know.
