Hello, I’ve been here before but had absolutely no memory of my name/password/email (it was a few years back) so I created a new account. The Drs aren’t playing these days with lazy tapers like I was doing so it’s time to get back on board. I thought I could use the support.

Hello, I’ve been here before, now I’m back again. I guess I kinda paused my taper because I just got sick of it but it seems that they’re cracking down on the doctors these days for giving out benzos like they did with the opioid’s, it’s becoming impossible to find a doctor that will even take you and give you benzos in my area anyway, (anybody else?), besides all that I don’t need this drug anymore and I need to continue tapering it and get off of it so I’m back for support because I need to crack down and get it done. It’s gonna be tricky because I’ve developed heart arrhythmias recently, I don’t think they’re due to benzo use, I think it’s just hereditary stuff , AFib and PSVT(?). My doctor actually told me to stop tapering when all that started so I did, but the other day she told me I needed to get back on it.. I was like “would you make up your damn mind,” so here I am back to see if I can taper without tripping up my arrhythmias, she said she would work with me if that happens too much. I do have appointments in these months coming up to see the specialist about a possible ablation for the arrhythmias. My dose is 1 1/2 mg of Xanax a day divided into 2 doses, and I will be tapering straight off of the Xanax, without crossing over to Valium.. and my doctor prescribed me the .25 so that I can do the micro-taper, which is what I did before and will continue to do, it just seems easier for me, but I wanted the support of this site so I’m back! I got to get it done this time!
