I am posting my first post on this forum. I have primary insomnia and have been taking benzos for over 20 years. I am just now understanding that the treatment may be cause of my symptoms. I am beginning my tampering journey today!

Yes, what benzo's initially treat they begin to cause once we become dependent on, tolerant to, withdrawing or recovering from and that includes insomnia, panic, anxiety, RLS, tinnitus and so many others. 

 

Good for you for looking to get off the drug, we typically suggest reducing your dose by about 5-10% every couple of weeks but using your symptoms to guide you will hopefully keep you functional.
