I am new.  I joined to seek and hopefully help with advice. My Dr stopped my Valium in September last year after being on them 30 years. The hell I’ve been thru is indescribable. Currently I’m seeking help from my heart constantly pounding, fluttering etc.  It’s nonstop. There’s countless other issues I wish to discuss, but I need help here first. I can’t concentrate with this nonstop pounding .

Congratulations on being benzo free. I am sorry you went through such extreme acute withdrawal. It sounds like your doctor did a cold turkey on you? Unfortunately it's very common for symptoms to persist after cessation of benzo's. The heart pounding you're describing is something many members here experience. I had it on/off during my taper but I'm grateful it has stopped now. It is very disturbing and unsettling. Just know what you're experiencing is normal and you are not alone.
