Compounding pharmacy will soon be making me tapering capsules.  If I am in tolerance/kindled withdrawel, what would be a good mg amount to reduce by and should I do daily.  I'm on 1.36 mg.  I'd like to hold for  10-14 on the capsules and then start reduction.

I'm struggling with .001-.004 mg, wondering if .004 is too much.  My symptoms are horrific benzo belly and nausea, and I'd hate to be on this going into 2024-2025.  I don't want to do a suspension liquid that's why I'm doing capsules.

Thank you

What taper rate do you wish to try?  5% a month? 10% a month?

Once you’ve decided on a taper rate, your compounding pharmacist should be able to make recommendations on how to achieve that rate using compounded capsules.

For example, Regenboog Apotheek (the compounding pharmacy that makes Tapering Strips - see link below) uses the same principle as the coins we use to pay small amounts of money (e.g. we can pay 20 cents using 2 dimes, 4 nickels, 20 pennies, 1 dime plus 2 nickels, 3 nickels plus 5 pennies, etc).  The compounding pharmacists at Regenboog Apotheek accomplish the same thing by making pills in low doses that can be put together in various combinations to achieve the target dose.

I also suggest you look through the posting history of member nolongeranxiousbut.  She used compounded clonazepam capsules to taper.  I’ve included a link to her Success Story below.
