I tapered from 30 mg temazepam.  It took me two years.  I tried a fast taper at the beginning and it messed me up bad.  If it's not too late already, Dom, will you try to find a doctor who will prescribe for a slow taper?  Temazepam is not as brutal as some of the other benzos, but it is a benzo and it can really screw up your life if you don't taper from it slowly enough.
