Benzo and sleep apnea

Does anyone know if long term benzo use can be a primary cause of mild sleep apnea?

I had 2 sleep studies done one during Benzo WD and one after I was mostly healed.  I found out I didn't have sleep apena

 

Benzos can cause your throat muscles to relax which "could" result in a mild form of "obstructive sleep apnea?"

 

But that type of obstructive apnea wouldn't result from long term use, but rather while using the Benzo

Withdrawal can cause benzo-flu and GERD, both of which can feel like apnea.
