If anyone is interested - I heard of a drug free & painless rehabilitation progr

Hi, I found a drug free outpatient rehabilitation program for addiction.  This program is unique and unlike others. I have been told that this program has been in existence for over a decade.  The results are well documented.  In fact, in the late 90's a successful study of over 4000 individuals was performed at Miami University.  The founder of this program is Dr. Jay Holder who has received the Albert Schweitzer prize in midicine.  He gives lectures in Las Vegas and has his own clinic in Florida. I was told about Dr Jerry Klemer who has taken post graduate work in this area.  My friend who is acquainted with this man tells me that this program is real and painless.  If you are interested his office is in Costa Mesa, California (7l4) 540-0555.  I hope this helps!  Hang in there!!!  Kimberly

With all due respect, I don't think many of us are dealing with addiction and there is no way to get off benzos pain free.  Anything that even attempts a pain free recovery ultimately leads prolonged misery and financial loss.  If he has invented a magic pill that restores the cns, then I will buy one for everyone on this message board and we can shut down BB.

Pam,  A Doctor that has received the Albert Schweitzer prize might be worth looking into.  Anything that helps!  Kimberly

Hi Kimberly,

With all due respect, I agree with what Ryan has posted.  There is no "pain free" way to get clean from alcohol, street drugs or prescription medications.  They all have side effects, and they all have a withdrawal syndrome.  There is no painless way "out" except going through the process to recovery from these substances.

Not only that, a word or caution.  Beware of doctors who advertize their practices online.  They are in it to make money.  There is no guarantee their methods work, and many can be harmful and cause more problems, as well as expensive.

In my experience, legitimate peer-reviewed physicians never advertize online, real doctors practice in private and a patient's general practitioner will refer him or her to the appropriate specialist when needed.  Real doctors don't practice on the internet.

Hoping this helps

Annie

Colin,

Thank you for posting that information. :)

So many miracle cures out there that take advantage of people. Reminds me of the old snake oil salesmen days you see in the old movies. I would hate to see anyone burned or suffer more than they have to getting off the meds. I think sticking to the methods that are described on this forum are the safest ways and most proven ways to get off the benzos. If you can have a doctor on board to guide you through it, thats a huge bonus too.

Colin, thank you for posting those links.  I found the same pages last night, but didn't know if it would be appropriate for me to post them here.  And TC, I agree with you, I couldn't have said it better ..
