Post-Surgery pain relief, what to take?

I'm having laparscopic gallstone removal this week and a biopsy of a node in pernineum.  I'm wondering what is the safest for us BB's to take for post-op pain?

I may be wrong about this, and I'm sure someone will correct me, but I would think you will need something stronger than an over the counter pain reliever.  Maybe something along the lines of a narcotic, for a few days.

Thanks DisneyGirl, hope someone else replies.  My pain is high now from gallstones, and nodes in perineum, not to mention all sx's from recovery.

Thanks sweets   hopefully the worst of it will be over this week.  Starving to death meanwhile isn't much fun either, can't eat solid food.
