Albuterol in nebulizer

Hi all

Was doing so well

Fighting this pneumonia now

Had to do a nebuliZing treatment and 5 days antibiotics going back for recheck Monday but can't walk well or breathe

So scared bc I am at 1.37 and should I hold or how long to get better w pneumonia?

I was walking and playing tennis, hiking and so many positive things

Tried to strengthen my body for the end

Been off work 2 wks.

Just scared

Could used encouragement bc albuterol on nebulizer has made me so shaky and jittery

I won't take steroids I am allergic

Just know that albuterol is known to make anyone jittery, anxious and shaky.  My daughter had pneumonia at age 2 and was given a prescription for albuterol... 1/4 t.  I only gave her 1/8 teaspoon but by midnight she was so bouncing off the walls I took her to the ER and they gave her something to calm her down.  I tossed the bottle after that.

 

I'm sure you feel it even more in withdrawal.  If it were me I'd just hold for a bit til things calm down. 

 

What antibiotic did you take?

Yes going a bit crazy

But I am a severe asthmatic though my asthma was fine before pneumonia

I was hiking two ours per day and feeing amped but "well"

So bummed

I took Zithromax 500 mg

I don't ever do well with antibiotics

Even before benzo

Jackson, FWIW ~ my Bronchial Asthma turned in Bronchitis and I woke up a couple of weeks ago and had a hard time breathing so went to the ER ! Ended up getting 150 mgs Predisone  Ived and a breathing treatment wooo not fun, then had to take a Steriod z pack for 6 days and also Zithromax 250mg z pack was a bit jumpy for 10 days or so but still here to talk about it . I think you will be fine maybe a bit more anxious but you need to get them lungs cleared up. Hope you get feeling better soon ~CD

Did you continue tapering while on those meds?

I am allergic to steroid

It's the reason I had to take Ativan in the first place

Will never ever take it as long as I live

Hope I don't need to w this. Breathing ok as long as not walking but going to specialist tomorrow

Yup like a fool I cut while on the Meds, IMO hold like Challis suggested and yes Steroids are sure nasty but honestly I had no choice ! I need or am suppose to take Symbicort 2 x daily  has steroids in but keeps my Asthma under control ! My GF had the same thing so not sure if was Viral or Bacterial so just took the Antibiotics. Just take it slow for now I am sure you will be fine. Again I hope you feel better ps: Yogurt for the Zithromax it will help avoid any GI issues !
