ME TOO...AND I'M LOOKING BETTER EVERY DAY. IN FACT, IT LOOKS AS IF I WAS AT THE TOP OF THE BUTT UGLY TREE AND HIT EVERY BRANCH ON THE WAY DOWN  :laugh:

Sometimes someone says something to you that really hits home ... an Oprah aha moment, if you will.  That's why I love this thread so much, I feel I'm really gaining so much from all these wonderful and thought provoking quotes and images.  Thank you again, Ins!

 

On that note, a dear friend recently suggested, "Start thinking about what you can do, not what you can't do".  I took it and ran with it, and I can tell you, that simple sentence has already made a huge difference in my life.

Retirement offers a chance to focus on the really important things in life.

IF YOUR ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES WHO CAN ACTUALLY AFFORD TO RETIRE. I BELIEVE THAT MOST WHO DO...LIVE IN POVERTY...BARELY GETTING BUY. HOW SAD IS THAT?  YOU WORK YOUR WHOLE LIFE IN HOPES THAT IN YOUR OLDER AGE YOU CAN RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE; HOWEVER, SADLY...THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

 

I know, Fluter. I am one of the lucky ones as I have enough of an occupational pension to manage and to enjoy life. I feel desperately sorry for those who have to continue to work to make ends meet. Our retirement age is now 67. I was lucky to still come under the old regulations when retirement age was 60. Poverty in the UK is now worse among working people rather than the elderly. 1 in 5 children in Scotland live in poverty. It is totally unacceptable. We would need to start a new thread to discuss this.

 

I KNOW WHO THE DALI LAMA IS. NOW, CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT IT IS THAT HE DOES.  I DON'T KNOW THAT MUCH ABOUT HIM. 

WHAT I THINK TO BE THE CASE IS HE HAS MADE THIS QUOTE WHICH I HAPPEN TO AGREE WITH MOST OF IT...ON THE OTHER HAND IS HE TOTALLY TAKEN CARE OF BY OTHERS?  HAVING ALL HIS NEEDS MET...

I REALLY DON'T KNOW.
