I used 10 mg of Valium for sleep purposes for 6 years three times per week. Instead of increasing the dose to maintain the effect of the drug, I quit cold turkey on January 6, 2011.  Initially the withdrawal symptoms were fierce but now at 10 months off, they are less but anxiety and insomnia and lower back muscle pain persist.  The forum is helpful for support and for insight.

You and I are very close in our time off benzos. I jumped off Klonopin December 12th. I'm still experiencing symptoms myself, but it's nice to have another person to talk to who is in the same general time frame of healing Have you noticed any improvements recently? I think I'm starting to see some myself.

The back pain can be a real bear.  I find that hot baths and stretching exercises help quite a bit.
