Facebook Marketplace, CraigsList, etc. question

I am looking to buy an old used truck that runs for $2K or under. I have been searching on FB and CL. All the vehicles I have seen in this price range have major mechanical things wrong with them and do not run. I don't wanna spend 2K on a used truck and then have to spend another 2-4K (or even more) on major engine or transmission repairs. Am I being unrealistic in wanting an old truck that runs for 2K or less? Suggestions from anybody reading this are greatly appreciated.

i know this post is old but as a true gear head here.......2k for any used truck your either going to get a complete rust bucket    or something thats not rusty with either trans or engine problems  i think your price range of 2k especially now a days is very unrealistic  unless you find an old grandma or grandpa willing to sell there car for that price
