Hi,

I am looking for resources to help my mom with Clonazepam withdrawal. She is on low dose Clonazepam  for last 2 years. After a month of starting Clonazepam for anxiety, she developed tinnitus (we did not attribute this to Clonazepam use) and anxiety symptoms further increased with onset of tinnitus. She also developed neuropathy, restlessness.

Now looking back and reading about benzodiazepine withdrawal, I am wondering if her symptoms maybe more related to Clonazepam tolerance and withdrawal.

I am looking for information on taper.

Current dose:

Clonazepam 0.25 mg

Mirtazapine 15mg

Dosulepin 50mg

Hello Sneha, welcome to BenzoBuddies,

I believe you’ve assessed your mothers symptoms accurately, even a low dose of benzodiazepines can cause significant side effects and symptoms after a very brief time of use.

We can certainly help her taper from this drug, we suggest reducing by about 5-10% every couple of weeks, using symptoms to gauge the timing for the next reduction.

I’ll provide some links to help you get started but we’re glad you found us.
