Feels like a heart attack☹️

Hello! Has anyone experienced a tightness in the chest? A squeezing  of the heart feeling while either in while taking benzos or during tapering, cold Turkey?

I sure have! All tests show I’m a picture of health?? Really, sure don’t feel like it.

Been on Xanax for four months-.5 mg twice a day. Was cut off and on day four of cold Turkey 🤬

This is from the Ashton manual and this symptom is very common but if you're concerned its always a good idea to get checked out by your doctor.  The medical community makes a lot of money off of us and our multitude of symptoms.    Benzo's are great muscle relaxers until we take them away, then things really tighten up.

 

Heart and lungs. Palpitations, pounding heart, rapid pulse, flushing, sweating, and breathlessness are usual accompaniments of panic attacks, but may occur without panics. They do not signify heart or lung disease but are simply the expression of an overactive autonomic nervous system. Slow deep breathing and relaxation, as described under panic attacks, can do much to control these symptoms. Do not worry about them: they would be accepted as normal if you were running for a bus, and will do no more harm than if you really were!
