Hello!

It's my first post here.I've been having problems with anxiety and depression for 9 years, but I 've been on psych meds for only 2 years.

Until last year,I used Lorazepam, but my doc wanted to change it to Rivotril(clonazepam). So I've been taking rivotril for 9 months, but it doesn't agree with me.It doesn't do very much for my anxiety and it gives me nightmares or super vivid dreams every night,so I don't rest much.Plus, when I'm on my period, all hell breaks loose, the mental state I'm in is horrid.

Anyway,I am on 0.5 mg rivotril. For the first months,I was taking 1/2 of 0.5 in the morning, afternoon and night.I succesfully got rid of the night dose(almost cold turkey) and 1/2 of the afternoon dose(so right now I am taking 1/2 of 0.5 morning, 1/4 of 0.5 afternoon) but I'm stuck.I tried to get rid of the afternoon one and I have anxiety, tinitus, palpitations,it's very uncomfortable.I tried twice but failed.

Would liquid titration be ridiculous for me,considering that I'm taking such a small dose of rivotril and I only took it for 9 months?

Hello candycandy093  Welcome to Benzobuddies!

We are very glad you joined our community. Benzodiazepines need to be tapered very slowly.  We can help you with support, encouragement and taper/withdrawal information.  Please feel free to browse the boards and post questions to any of the dedicated threads.  Titration will slow the process right down, you are making a great decision tapering your benzo.

In general it’s advised to cut your daily dose by somewhere between 5% and 10% every 10 - 14 days.  You can taper slower than this, whatever feels comfortable,  the aim is to try to keep symptoms manageable.

The Ashton Manual is a great resource for understanding the effect benzo’s have on our body, I suggest you check it out.  It provides both taper and withdrawal information, it also includes a list of common symptoms

I'll leave you a few links:

Welcome aboard
