5 months off benzo's

I have a strange symptom, going on, and it's really bothering me, don't know if anyone else has this, we all know this poison dosen't let you sleep well, and insomnia sets in, along with all the other symptoms , but sometimes i'll be sitting watching tv or just sitting trying to relax as best as I can, and I start to drift off to sleep, as soon as I do I wake in a jolt terrified !!  this has been happening for a while ?

Have had it throughout two tapers.  If I nap, guaranteed to be catapulted awake.  Often try to sleep- drowsy, eyelids falling- only to suddenly reawaken with a start. Feels like an adrenal burst. Not sure of the chemical reactions or physiology happening. All research seems to say,"We don't know how you fall asleep anyway."
