Symptoms are not abating

My son has been totally off Ativan since 8/23/2018 (21 months 1 day). Prior to that he did a slow taper that was not bearable. So, he did a rapid withdrawal using flumazenil.

He has suffered with mental health issues his entire life. He has seen many therapists and has taken over 70 different antidepressants, etc.

His withdrawal symptoms such as burning head are not abating in any way.

In the past, antidepressants have not helped. He does not expect them to help now.

But he is not functioning.

Should he consider using medicine again or not? Because we have both read that antidepressants cause damage just like benzos.

But what other alternative is there? The fog is not lifting.
