Dies anyone know why this happens?  I never had this happen till a few years on benzos. Now that I’m off it happens in one eye all the time. What causes this?

Benzo's seem to effect many people's eyes in different ways.  I have had eye issues that range from redness, to pain, to feeling like my eye is to big for the socket.  Been to reg eye Dr to specialist.

I have 2 other friends on bb have had other issues.  One woke up one morning , eye in terrible redness and pain.  Seems all things lead back to benzo's, of course if you are worried, I know some eye Dr's are opening up now.

I hope it goes away quickly and you don't need to see a Dr.  Good luck, Mary 💜💜

Thank you Becksblue and Mary5588.

I’ve been to many eye doctors right before my withdrawal started. My eyes were my worst issue since last year when I was told I could take half my dose or none if I could sleep without it, after saying I wanted to get off.

I have constant dry, burning, watering eyes that are always red. I used to have the most beautiful eyes but I’m so afraid that I have chronic dry eye or ocular rosacea or some autoimmune disorder. I went to 3 eye doctors that just were no help and just threw eye drops at the problem and I’ve never had relief from them. I really hope this is benzo related and clears up eventually.

I hope so too stereo.  I was given a bunch of drops too, they didn't help.  But I can tell you, my eye issues do get better at times, so it's like a come and go symptom.  It is scary though at times because it's your eyesight.  I can also tell you, my 2 eye Dr's wouldn't listen to a word when I talked about benzo's, just kept talking about something else.  They were probably the worst Dr's I have had since withdrawal started.  :tickedoff::(

Is it possible you can get an ANA, anti-nuclear antibody, screening blood test?  It would check for some antibodies that might be causing the problem with your eye.
