Dizziness - How long did it last for you ? Afraid it will never go away

Hello,

I am at almost two months after withdrawal (30mg oxazepam for one week stopped suddenly) and I feel dizzy all day. It dos not seem to improve. Neurologist and ear specialist find nothing.

It feels like I am on a boat or like my brain cannot follow the movements of my body.

I know some of you experienced dizziness for a long time. But tell me it goes away at some point please... I need your answers.

The neurologist and ear specialist didn't find anything because there is nothing physically wrong.

This boatlike dizziness is a classic withdrawal symptom that many experience. However, benzodiazepine withdrawal is non-linear in its course and therefore it's pretty much impossible to tell when it will go away.

I am 16 months of Klonopin after 20 years for insomnia. I have spaciness frequently and sometimes this still morphs into dizziness. Sense of being in a boat is infrequent now. My terrible burning is finally disappearing, too. Several months ago a neurologist gave me a "clean bill of health." So you hold tight! Your symptoms are wd and they are going to pass.

I had it for about 12 months, then it went away. Don't worry, all of you're symptoms will go away with time.

I had dizziness or I called it vertigo for about 60 days. I was falling down all the time and I busted my head open on my glass top coffee table and got 17 stiches in my forehead, I will have the scar forever. It did clear up not too long after that incident. Ride it out and hopefully it will go away soon for you as well.

It's a withdrawal symptom. Don't worry, it will go away. I had bad dizziness, my fiance had to take me to ER and off work for 3 days. The following week I had it again but managed to work. This was when I was 4 months out. Now I'm five months, I rarely have it but who knows. This is very horrible and not linear at all. But don't worry we all will give better, hang in there.

Thanks all for your replies. I am feeling better today, still dizzy but it worries me less. I am confident this will go with time.

I am two months out so it's quite early. I will wait !

Hi I had that severe unsteady feeling or dizziness but i called it vertigo and boaty feeling specially when I'm lying down from 7 weeks off was the hardest part but this time from  4 months out benzo seems manageable and lessen.  hopefully this is not a window only but continue to heal.
