Is there a difference as far as 0.25mg (3x day) to 0.125 (6x day) on Xanax?

Being that both still total 0.75mg per day, (This may be a stupid question), but is there a drug effectiveness difference as far as 0.25mg taken every 8 hrs (3x a day) compared to 0.125mg every 4 hours (6x a day)?  or are they both the same as far as our body plasma levels can detect?  I am asking this for the reason that I may switch from 0.125mg (6x a day), to 0.25mg (3x day) so it is more manageable, but I am afraid I may get inter dose WD symptoms.
