Trying to get off

Been on xanax and ambien at least four years, mostly for sleep.  Low dose  .25 to .5mg xanax and 10mg ambien, sometime mixed with alcohol.  Quit drinking three weeks ago. Tapered xanax to .0625mg for past four days. Still taking full dose 10mg ambien.  Suffer from occasional afib.  Having issues with blood pressure and weight gain.  Exercise 30 to 40 minutes a day.  High blood pressure is biggest concern. Have not talked to doctor about this.  Suggestions

I am glad you found us today. That sounds like a pretty rapid taper.  The recommended reduction rate is 5 to 10 percent every two weeks. It sounds like you should call your doctor about you medical concerns.
