Caught a cold... woohoo!

Hey guys!

Title says it all... caught a nasty cold (when are they not nasty?).

I'm at the beginning with the very sore throat. It's getting worse very fast.

So, any advice on what to take, not take.... whatever ?

I need to go buy all that crap today while I can go out.

I can't take anything with sugar in it.

Finally a post I can advise on!! I was feeling useless because a lot of calls for help were beyond my experience.

 

Vitamin C, sugar free works wonders - pop as many as you want.

 

Also, I don't know where in the world you are but the Sri Lankan brand "link pharmaceutical" sell these little satchels of herbs called "Samahan". These are great and have herbs and pepper in them. You mix it into boiling water and drink it. They work wonders you would hardly believe it. Your local indian/Sri Lankan supply shop should sell them. I only know about it because a good friend of mine is Sri Lankan.

I take a hit of Echinacea and Goldenseal tincture now and then if I've been exposed to someone with a cold. Echinacea tea too. Supposed to boost the immune system. Doesn't seem to bug my benzo thing.

 

Zinc lozenges might help too.

Currently drinking some lemon green tea and it helps but it's no cure.

I have not found the Samahan here only online and in bulk. Too bad

I'm using a decongestant spray and it works well and for about 8 hours.

It's weird that I can sleep through this.
