Another journalist has posted on FB that she wants to speak to people about their experience of PDD.  This is her website.  She is based in Cardiff in Wales.  She has written for quality papers such as The Guardian.

I spoke to the journalist this afternoon.  She is freelance so not sure where she will publish.  She is just doing some background research and wanted to hear about my experience of withdrawal.  I got the impression that she didn't know much about the subject.

Yes, she wants to hear stories but I really don't know what she plans to write about.    I don't know if she was taking notes while I spoke on the phone.  She didn't say much so maybe she was busy making notes.  I felt she wasn't very interested but I am sure that wasn't the case. The lack of feedback was disconcerting. She was very nice.

Hmm? She strikes me as  Just another journo looking for a ''Story'' Not someone humanitarian that wants to help, I read a few items on her blog, she does not come across as a 'People person' that wants to help. More like  news hound that wants to climb the ladder, just my personal opinion, but I stand by it. I'm also in Wales

Just listened to Radio 5 Live today - what a damp squib - about one minute, no discussion whatsoever.  Not worth listening to.

 

This is what happens though, the media quickly moves onto the next issue.

Hi Terry

 

BBC Radio 5 Live has apologised for cutting the benzo segment short this morning but I don't know if it will be rescheduled or not.

 

The next step here will be the response from the Department of Health in London about funding for a helpline and specialist services.  If the Department refuses once again to provide funding, there will be a an outcry from the campaigners.  If they agree, there might be more coverage in the media.  It is a waiting game once again.

Well, I for one was pleased that she wrote me back this nice note.  Most people don't take the time.  It indicates that she is interested in our plight and is listening.  She said "really" twice and used an exclamation mark.

That is good, benzohno.  She was very nice to me on the phone.  It was just disconcerting telling my story and getting little response but I suspect she was taking notes.  I just started to feel a little uncomfortable.  I will be happy if she gets a piece in a good quality publication here.  She is quite young and is obviously early in her career.
