Help A Brother

Hello,

 

I joined BenzoBuddies to get advice on how to help my brother who is currently going through withdrawal.

He stopped taking benzos "cold turkey" 8 days ago. He had a perscription for Xanax anx Klonopin. He was taking them daily for few months and drinking alcohol. We are not sure of how much he was taking, but he decided he needed to stop and did so last week.

Congrats on being benzodiazepine free. Right now your brother is in the acute phase of withdrawal. this is when symptoms are their very worst. this phase typically lasts about a month with marked relief felt after.

 

You might like to check out The Ashton Manual it is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field.
