Last Little Bit The Worst

I am so disappointed that I cannot become a member of benzobuddies. I have chosen a name out of the blue withno reference whatsoever to my name. I will continue to follow the forum but feel so out of the loop as I cannot see more. I feel so lonely out here and was hoping to at least be a part of this wonderful community.

I am daily micro tapering on valium having crossed over from clonazepam. I am now at 2.5 mgs valium and finding this last bit very difficult. Seems like forever since I started at 5mgs. I have been on benzos for 26yrs....too long.

Welcome to the forum!  We're glad to have you as a new member.  Sorry that your membership approval was delayed, but we're very careful when we think someone might be using their real name as a username.  Anonymity is key at this forum.  Congratulations on your taper so far.

You'll find plenty of information and support here.  Our members have gone through all aspects of withdrawal, and you're likely to see  people who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them.  For those who are currently tapering, we suggest reducing no faster than 5-10% every 10-14 days, and some taper even slower than that.  One exception: very short-term users of a few weeks or less may be able to taper faster than that.  Having some withdrawal symptoms is normal, especially near the end of a taper and for a month or so after discontinuing the medication.  The most common symptoms are anxiety and insomnia, but these are temporary and will go away in time.

Here are a few links you may find useful:

Withdrawal Support Board

The Ashton Manual is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field.  She describes and explains withdrawal symptoms in Chapter III, and there is also a section with withdrawal/taper schedules.

Please take the time to Create a Signature.  This will allow others to see where you are in the process so they can better support you.

Again, welcome!

everly,

Welcome!  I'm 25yrs on benzo's (well 26 now).  I'm getting pretty low now - compared to the beginning.  Many find they have to go alot slower towards the end.  You won't be alone here. :smitten:

Hello from a fellow 26 year user (all Rx'd);

I really hit a wall 4 days ago at 12mg . I wish I was at 5mg.

You came to the right place. There are lots of long term

users that are finished and are healed.
