Valium taper

Hi

I'm trying to taper from Valium use

I have been taking it for approx 6 months on and off

Meaning: maybe 30 2 mg tablets would last me 5 or 6 weeks

Should I go directly to 1 mg for 2 weeks like in the last weeks of the Ashton Method or is that

Too quick?

You should try to find the lowest dose that you feel stable on and begin from there. You have been on them long enough where a slower taper is recommended. I personally would probably try a 10 percent cuts. Valium has a long half life so it can take a week or so to feel the full effects of a cut.

So I would have to take 2 mg and take 10 percent out of the pill
