What is Chemical Fear?

I'm trying to understand what "chemical fear" is?    And, how do you cope with it?

I think it is the same as when we get anxiety, it is fear or anxiety that has no reason but just appears and is produced by chemicals in your brain, I think chemicals can also work the other way, suppose you are in a very dangerous situation and you take a pill that stops you being scared when you really should be?

I dont know what one can do about it though.
