is Valium fast acting enough for insomnia?

Hi,

I'm in lorazepam w/d.  I've been taking various benzos since 1990 for chronic insomnia (TBIs-no seizures) and PTSD-am getting EMDR.  If I switch to Valium to ease the w/d is it going to be too long acting to actually help with the insomnia?

 

This is only my 4th month of tapering-with the help/encouragement of a very kind/knowledgeable prescriber.

From what I understand, valium is not as good a sleep aid as lorazepam, temazepam or klonopin.

It made me VERY sleepy when I first crossed from klonopin. That doesnt last long though and tapering off is the right way to go.
