NEW TO BENZO BUDDIES !

Hi All,

I'm so glad I found this site.

I have been on 1mg Klonopin and 20mg Paxil for 20 years.  I do not drink alcohol or do any recreational drugs.

I am considering tapering down to .5mg Klonopin to start and see what happens.

My questions for the group:

* What Benzo are you on and what dosage for how long?

* Did your Benzo seem to stop working over time?

* Briefly, how was your taper experience?

As for your questions, i took different benzos, including Clonazepam. The last benzo use was daily for 5 years. Dosages varied but never big.

Yes, over time, it first stopped working and then turned on me. Since i felt close to unbearable prior to my taper, the tapering itself was rather hard but i got a bit better at the end of it. I'm 15 months benzo free.

20 years is a long time and I want to see how I feel without it.

I do not demonize Benzos at all.  Klonopin saved my life.

But I just want to try to at least reduce.  Is 1mg hard to taper?

I know some people are on much more....up to 4 mg per day.

I started taking 1 mg Klonopin for sleep August 2022. It stopped working. I started a micro taper in January 2024. I am almost down to 0.5 mg.

150+- diazepam or any other benzo I had atm. 5 years like subscribed, two years uncontrollable abuse.

yes almoust totally!! I had blisters of it but finally even that had no effect. So taper was impossible.

WelcomeI I am a new member also, tapering from 16 years use of Alprozolam. 14 years at .5 3 times a day, then 1 year at 1 mg 3 times a day, then started tapering in 3/23. I am now at .125 morning, .375 night.
