Switching jobs/careers during taper

Howdy!

I am not young, and am looking at making a career change. I’m self-employed doing residential remodeling (over 20 years in biz, and 30 years in construction).

I’m reaching a point in life where I’m reconsidering things anyway with older kids and a divorce in the past few years. I frequently feel like work is not fulfilling, and I want to do something less stressful (the actual work is fine, but the other business stuff is just overwhelming…). I’m planning on going back to school in the fall, but for the next few years I’ll have to make money doing something. Trying to find something that’s simpler, but also fulfilling.
The status quo ain’t cutting it…

I’m curious if anyone else here has done anything similar.

Security jobs are pretty unstressful and uneventful if u get lucky at a easy indoor place. very little thinking required, easy entry.
