Is reinstatement ever a good idea?

Knowing what I know now, I would have done a much slower taper and likely started NAD injections (maybe IV infusions) during the end of my taper.

History:

  • 1.5 mgs of prescribed klonopin for 14 years
  • tapered over 6-9 months
  • jumped after stabilizing on .08 mgs for a month
  • quit date: March 13, 2023

Hello mattstaton,

Welcome to Benzo Buddies!

You are actually very new off benzos. How are you feeling? At 4 months off I was still very symptomatic and not very functional. I did work, and it provided a distraction, but at times it wasn’t easy.

In my years here on the forum, I have not heard a lot of positive reports in terms of reinstatement. Most regretted the decision and some even had paradoxical effects.

It takes time for the central nervous system to recover from the massive changes that benzos make. For me the best thing I did was to allow my key to heal at it’s own pace, accept the process and be patient.
