Hello Libby Wilson, Welcome to Benzobuddies

I’m glad you’re here with us, I am sorry I can’t help you with finding a doctor, one of our members might be able to help.   We can help you taper off Ativan. You’ve joined a wonderful supportive community, who will support and encourage you along the way. The general rule of thumb is reducing between 5/10% every 10/14 days.  This is too quick for some of us, always important to listen to your body and adjust the reduction accordingly.  You will get some symptoms, that’s normal, just keep in mind they are temporary. Please look around the forum, post any questions for members to respond.

Check out The Ashton Manual,  It is a great resource for understanding the effect benzo’s have on our body, Chapter III reassured me that symptoms I had were temporary.

Welcome @[Li...] and good luck on your journey.

I’m not in the US, I’m across the Ocean. But you can educate your doctor to be benzo-wise.

If they have an open mind and are willing to learn. Professor’s Ashton book was based on her experience with BZD WD sufferers. People wanted out of this Hell and she had the medical expertise needed. Plus necessary wisdom.

Please find attached this short information that @[Pa...] distributes to Newcomers. You could show it to your doctor “Benzodiazepines Deprescrbing Guidance“.

It’s conscise, so you may copy it for your doctor. Along with lorazepam withdrawing schedule from the Ashton manual, that you already have from @[ma...]

But TMI is never too much information when your biggest oponent is the BZD.

Take care,

Paula
