Xanax for 3 years now Klonopin for 1. Lawsuit years ago started the need and now has rolled into divorce. Totally dependent. Not sure how and how long I want to game in restoring my endogenous gaba but I don't want to be an as hole because a crabby hothead and alienate friends family and my children. Thanks.

We are very glad you joined our community.  I am really sorry you are going through divorce, must be very tough time for you.  I am glad you have made the decision to taper off these drugs.  Be confident!  you can do this, slow is the way to go, not everyone has a bad time.  We can help you with support, encouragement and taper/withdrawal information. 

 

In general it’s advised to cut your daily dose by somewhere between 5% and 10% every 10 - 14 days.  Some need to go slower, some use titration method to slow it down.  Whatever feels comfortable, the aim is to try to keep symptoms manageable.

 

I would suggest that you familiarise yourself with the Ashton Manual, It is a great resource for understanding the effect benzo’s have on our body.  It provides tapering and withdrawal information and includes a list of common symptoms 

 

You will find some very valuable support and information on the forum.  Our members are happy to share their personal experiences with you and support you.. Please feel free to browse the boards and post questions to any of the dedicated threads.
