Surrender can be likened to making the leap and just letting go

with a sense of calm resolve that you will safely land as intended

Loving kindness is a form of love that truly is an ability, and, as research scientists have show, it can be learned. It is the ability to take some risks with our awareness-to look at ourselves and others with kindness instead of reflexive criticism; to include in our concern those to whom we normally pay no attention; to care for ourselves unconditionally instead of thinking, "I will love myself as long as I never make a mistake." It is the ability to gather our attention and really listen to others, even those we've written off as not worth our time. It is the ability to see the humanity in people we don't know and the pain in people we find difficult.

And how very true this quote is!  I'm likely a wise-in-training, but I confess most times, I'd rather be able to mind read at will.

I HAVE PERFECTED THE DEATH LOOK!  SO, I'M GUESSING OTHERS DON'T EVEN NEED TO READ MY MIND...AS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW IS WRITTEN ALL OVER MY FACE (EXPRESSION).  I PERFECTED THIS SKILL FROM CHILDHOOD.

MY AUNT ALWAYS TOLD ME "IF LOOKS COULD KILL" I'D BE LAYING ON THE FLOOR. DANG RIGHT  >:D

Hilarious, Flutie.  I also have a mean death stare, words to the effect that I'm wondering how someone even dare walk on the same side of the street as me.  LMAO, too funny.  We'll have to dual it out some time! :D

Oh, and PS.  No, if *you* could read my mind, you'd be smiling!  Heh!

And that goes for everyone else on this thread, just in case anyone's feeling a little left out!

Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that,

and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning.  You have to

love.  You have to feel.  It is the reason you are here on earth.  You are here to risk your heart.

You are here to be swallowed up.  And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed,

or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the

apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness.  Tell yourself you tasted

as many as you could.

Oh, me too, Ins, me too!  :tickedoff:  I hate appointments and hate routine and hate schedules.  I work so much better in unstructured environments.  And I'm *always* late on arrival, no matter how hard I try, ugh, just more pressure, I drive those "weird" always punctual people crazy!  ::)  And I go slightly crazy if I'm the one having to wait for them, who's got patience for that?!   It's a whole vicious cycle of craziness sometimes.

Deadlines, though, I must admit they're good for me, it is amazing to find how much I can get done in a minute if I wait for that last minute!  :D:idiot:  Really glad to hear you got so much done, you must be feeling so much better about it.  Big hugs to you, my sweet friend, and I really hope you're not procrastinating on taking very good care of yourself!!!

Now!  One last procrastinating play from me before I set off to tackle that huge to-do list.  >:(  If I don't put this up now, I'm going to forget it.

I challenge everyone reading this, to put aside one hour of your day, either lie down or get very comfy in your favorite chair, close your eyes, and allow yourself to become fully immersed in this audio.

It likely won't be on YouTube for very long, they're constantly scouring for copyright infringement and pulling their videos down.  Seems this one has slipped through the cracks again.  At one time, I listened to this several times a week for a good few months.  It helped me enormously, particularly when I was going through a tough patch of anxiety at the beginning of my taper.  Very calming and relaxing.  Unfortunately, with my main wretched sx, I'm unable to do these types of meditations and visualizations anymore.  I miss them a lot, they're wonderful if you can discipline yourself to do them repetitively and daily.  :)

ABCD,

This is a great challenge.  Thank you, my lovely friend.

How many of us take an hour a day for ourselves?

Probably not many.

Wishing you a beautiful, relaxing weekend.

Much love to you

CD,

So wonderful to hear from you, and I'm hoping you find some peace and calm this weekend.

Taking time to quiet our minds is so very important, isn't it.

Love and peace to you

I DO BELIEVE THE INTERVIEW WENT BETTER THAN SHE THINKS IT DID. POOR BABY WAS SO STRESSED WHEN SHE CAME HOME...SHE HAD MAJOR STRESS LET DOWN.  SHE ACTUALLY CRIED. WE TALKED AND SHE TOLD ME SOME OF THE ANSWERS SHE GAVE TO THE QUESTIONS, AND I THINK SHE DID MUCH BETTER THAN SHE THINKS. TIME WILL TELL. HOW EVER THIS TURNS OUT...IT WAS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE & I TOLD HER THIS. I'M PROUD OF HER REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME.

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises.

And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child.

And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans, and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. .

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to leave you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure;

You really are strong, you really do have worth.

And you learn, and you learn

With every goodbye you learn.
