Fluter, thank you for putting music to that quote.

Here is a song that has been floating around in my head for the past few days.

The intro is Paul Simon commenting that this was one of their hardest

songs to write & record.

Beautiful lyrics and music ...

"Dangling Conversation"    -      Simon & Garfunkel

It's a still life water color,

Of a now later afternoon,

As the sun shines through the curtained lace

And shadows wash the room

And we sit and drink our coffee

Couched in our indifference,

Like shells upon the shore

You can hear the ocean roar

In the dangling conversation

And the superficial sighs,

The borders of our lives.

And you read your Emily Dickinson,

And I my Robert Frost,

And we note our place with bookmarkers

That measure what we've lost.

Like a poem poorly written

We are verses out of rhythm,

Couplets out of rhyme,

In syncopated time

And the dangling conversation

And the superficial sighs,

Are the borders of our lives

Yes, we speak of things that matter,

With words that must be said,

"Can analysis be worthwhile?"

"Is the theater really dead?"

And how the room is softly faded

And I only kiss your shadow,

I cannot feel your hand,

You're a stranger now unto me

Lost in the dangling conversation,

And the superficial sighs,

In the borders of our lives.

My weaknesses...I wish I could come up with something.

I'd probably have the same pause if you asked me what my strengths are.

Maybe they're the same thing.

- Al Pacino

This is so true.  I tend to be a perfectionist.  At times it is a strength...at other times a weakness.

HI TEX,

PLEASE ELABORATE...

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?

WHAT IS IT THAT YOU SEE OR DO NOT SEE?

WHEN I LOOK AT THE IMAGE AND READ THE QUOTE...

I SEE AN INDIVIDUAL WALING ON A RAIN SOAKED PATH...

SURROUNDED BY WALLS...

THEY COULD BE WALKING TOWARD LOVE...

THEY COULD BE WALKING AWAY FROM LOVE...

BUT, THE WALLS WILL NOT KEEP LOVE OUT...

LOVE WILL FIND IT'S WAY IN GIVEN THE CHANCE....

Black and white photography

Perhaps I am drawn to it because my mind focuses more easily on the content

Maybe I am longing for more focus in my own life

It could just be that the simplicity of black and white photography brings a sense a

calm because it's less busy

Just my feelings on a stressful, hurried day

In which those things in life that appear to be black and white,

really are not

The beauty in each person's perspective is to be found

Insom, i am doing ok today as i hope you are and the Quote about black and white is very true black and white does leave alot to a personal perspective of the individual. When things are in full color it`s right there and you can`t change colors but in blacK and white an individual can see it in many different ways shades etc. As for my Advitar it`s my Painted Pony as i am sure you know that Native Americans often Painted thier Horses before battle so i found this fitting !Be well and keep the quotes coming they are so good for the mind being you do have to reflect on the meanings . ~CD

THAT IS ABOUT THE FULLEST EMPTY PICTURE I HAVE EVER SEEN

What I am trying to say, i apparently did NOT say...the street is empty, the walls unadorned, the glimpse of sky unremarkable...each aspect of this picture is empty of specific meaning or embellishment, if you will...but the mosaic of the picture defines it in so many ways...it becomes a statement in its simplicity of complexity...that sounds like a lot of bs, but I don't mean it in that way...there is a lot to this picture, but if you had to describe the separate pieces of it, what would you have to make each piece stick out? Stark is not always black and white, but a complexity of grays...there is color if you choose to see it. I hope that helps...the odor is my mental clutch burning...

CD,

Your avatar really catches the eye; I didn't know about the tradition of Native Americans painting their

horses prior to battle. Native American culture is fascinating and beautiful.

Love what you've written about perspective as it relates to black and white photography.

Thank you, CD.

THE CHERRY BLOSSOM TREE

I stare out at the cherry blossoms

In marvel and joy I watch them bloom

Then they burst out with their effloresces

As though awaking from mother nature’s womb,

And there I watch awestruck and in wonder

As though GOD splashed paint upon each branch

Through beauty, and only for beauty I cry a tear

As the blossoms explode in a pink and red avalanche.

No more beauty and wonder could one man ever see

Than watching the cherry blossoms upon a tree.
