Freedom from the desire for an answer is essential to

the  understanding of a problem.

-Jiddu Krishnamurti

Okay, so who wants to interpret this one for me?

Well, let me talk this one out here.  The way I see it, the whole point of of needing to understand a problem is because we ultimately seek the answer, no?  So now, if I decide I don't need any answers, I'm better able to understand the problem.  Aaah, got it!  Okay then, so in that case I'm more likely to receive my answer!  Sheesh ....  :idiot:

Anyone else?

In desiring an answer, are we desiring an answer in order to have understanding?

Or are we desiring an answer to have an answer (which we could be doing, without thinking too much about it, whereby preventing us from gaining what we think we sought: understanding)?  Is this the question?    Not sure.

Anyone else?

Make the most of your regrets; never smother your sorrow,

but tend and cherish it till it comes to have a separate and integral

interest.  To regret deeply is to live afresh.

- Henry David Thoreau

-Or- are we desiring an answer in order to ultimately "fix" a problem -

which we think we understand -

but in truth we do not, because our thinking is being clouded by the desire for an answer!?  ::):idiot:::)

I love these mind benders, lol, but with my cog fogged brain cells, my head's now hurting!  Fascinating. :muscle:

Here, I found a couple other of his quotes.  These, at least, aren't hurting my brain, lol.

"If you begin to understand what you are without trying to change it, then what you are undergoes a transformation".

"The highest form of human intelligence is to observe yourself without judgement".

Well, of course, abcd, YOUR pooch is the smartest pooch of 'em all! I knew I'd hear from the "dog people" about this one. Just wait....the others will speak up soon to defend THEIR furry friends. I can only guess what the dogs say to each other about their owners when they meet on the sidewalk!
