A most excellent answer, FluterByeeBaby! Well put, honest and straightforward! I must say, though, there have been some wonderful pieces of writing on here today, and I just didn't have my head in the right place to jump in. But thanks for the thoughtful offerings.

I'd also like to take you up on the offer of a refuge down in Texas for those of us in the deep freeze! It's, um, a tad chilly, and certain body parts can fall right off in such temperatures. Yup! Noses and ears, mostly. You know? The exposed bits. Some people just prefer not to wear hats because it'll ruin their perfectly coiffed hair. Well, my mama always said that you lose most of your heat through your head, so I say, "Embrace Hat Head!" "Have bad hair, but keep your ears!"

Good one, guys, you had me staring at the screen for a while as my weary brain pondered this one.  Well, my final conclusion is that Voltaire is absolutely right if we're talking about "chance" as in "luck".

On the surface, some event may appear to occur out of sheer luck.  However, there are always many mechanisms of action at play behind the scenes, i.e. A causative chain reaction.  Some may be easy to hypothesize, others will probably never be known or understood by us mere mortals.

And that's my take on it.  You, Ins?  You, Lapsy?  You, Snowy of the Hallmark Dept.?  Where's everyone else?

Good Day Friends,

Hoping everyone is holding up -- especially those who live in areas that have been hit with cold temps, snow & ice.

Thank you for the music and sunny vibes, Fluter.

Lapis, love the hat head pictures.  I'm partial to the one showing static electricity (because that is what my

hair looks like after wearing a hat).

ABCD, good to see you here.  Miss you when you're away, my friend.

As for the Voltaire quote, it is complicated.

Language is complicated.

An online article about Voltaire describes him as follows:

Any student trying to define a doctrine of Voltaire must realize that he was misunderstood in

his own time and remains an enigma for modern scholars.

Wishing all a headache free day.

My head is pounding.

Love,

Ins

Dear Fluter,

With the headache I have, I'll take those comforting hugs.

Ice tends to make me crazier, so I'll stay away from that.

Hugs right back to you.

Hey FluterByeeBaby,

It's always so interesting to see what new name you might give me! So, now I'm LapieByeeBaby! Wow! I'm not sure I'm worthy of something so special, but thank you anyway. And I must comment on your great idea about the waters freezing over, thereby stopping my dizzies. Well, no such luck yet. Water pipes are freezing in many homes around this city, but I'm not sure if the lake is frozen. Come to think of it, it's possible that the harbour is, but naw, not the lake. So, for now, I'm still a dizzy dame.

Looking forward to the parties down in Texas, though!

Love to you and all those who drop by these parts,

Lapis

Ins, glad you liked the hat head pictures! And here's hoping that your headache is easing up.

To anyone else checking in, whether you're north, south, east or west, I'm sending out good wishes to all. For a smile, I'm posting some weird fruit & veggie photos.  Apparently, nature has a sense of humour!

Lapis,

Loving the fruit & veggie photos.

The potato looks like a teddy bear.

Headache has eased up - so grateful.

Now, to face the cold weather ~~

Guess it's hat head again today.

At least my ears won't fall off ( I hope ).

Okay, so who wants to interpret this one for me?

Well, let me talk this one out here.  The way I see it, the whole point of of needing to understand a problem is because we ultimately seek the answer, no?  So now, if I decide I don't need any answers, I'm better able to understand the problem.  Aaah, got it!  Okay then, so in that case I'm more likely to receive my answer!  Sheesh ....  :idiot:

Anyone else?
