Today is the Up Helly Aa Festival in the Shetland Isles, north of Scotland.

 

It marks the end of the Yule period.

 

The men dress up as vikings and a replica Viking long boat is burned.

 

I imagine lots of alcohol is drunk!!

 

Must be quite a spectacle.
