This was winter 2010 for us (Feb 2010)....I forgot what blizzard it was but yes...that is my SUV! Buried!

Mindseeker...my mom passed away that next week. Feb 19th will be 5 years for me. It was a very tough winter indeed my friend.

We can have a Burns Supper tonight, 25th January is  Burns Day but celebrations are usually at the weekend.

Robert Burns (1759-96), is our national bard, a great poet. He died at age 37.

 

Haggis, neeps  (turnips) and tatties (potatoes) are served as the main course.  Desserts will vary.

Vegetarian haggis is available. 

 

The haggis is led in by a piper and the poem "To a Haggis" is read.

Much whisky is drunk and dancing goes onto the early hours.

Many men will don their kilts.

 

Come and do an "eightsome reel" or "strip the willow, both very fast dances.
