Hi Jenny...you are sounding so good...so happy for you. Very glad to hear that your head pressure is gone.  It seems to be my last persistent s/x. I still have others but they are random and come and go now. ...Your progress encourages all of us who are at the one year mark.  ...I am wishing you every day ...100%...coop

Fonz ..nice to hear from you! .. Sorry that you are still getting the brain vibrations. I am also at one year and still getting head s/x. I read the ' support for those with head pressure ' support group a lot. Seems like many of us experience head pressure,  head buzzing,  brain burning,  headaches,  head zaps or brain vibrations even after many of the other w/d s/x are becoming less frequent and less intense. I sm sorry that you are still sometimes sidelined to bed because of it. ...I too am accepting the 2 year time frame for healing. On bad days I try to remind myself that I am half way through ...and the worst half is over. Hold on Fonz ....we are all going to get to the end of this and get our lives back...wishing you good good days....coop

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post again to let everyone know -- it really does get much better! Wait! Did I just say that?! Yes I did. I am convinced that this window is of higher quality than any other window I have had. I will never forget my addiction specialist and the study that was done on benzo buddies -- it said 14 months was the average. My addiction specialist said 18 months. This Tuesday will be 14 months for me. I sure do hope and pray that this is it. I feel so much better. I am doing things that I thought I was not ever going to be doing and I am highly productive -- I thought I would never feel this good - yet I am at 90% now baseline. Still get wavy but manageable. I think at this point I am doing two steps forward and maybe one back. Guys and gals things do get better. Here is the big thing -- I still have major stresses in my life yet they are tolerable. That is all a good sign.

I know that all of us will heal! You all are awesome people to have gone through this and battle every day. If you can do this you can do everything. God heals everyone and He will get you through this even when you loose hope. I know that it is hard to believe when you are in a wave but it really does get much better. Rapid healing to all!

Henry

Your words are so kind Coop, but the accolades go to Jenny! She actually posted that article ;)

Hope you're feeling alright, girl. I'm so glad to hear things improving for you!! Have you volunteered again yet at your grandson's school? I was super happy & excited to read about you doing it a few weeks back! Hopefully this happens more & more for you :) Boy, getting on with life and healing -- we just welcomed it in! Pour it on us, YESSS!!! :)

Sleep well, all. I'm on my way back from a trio to see our baby niece :) I got lots of snuggle time, feeding her a bottle, and even put her to sleep :) Love me some baby time!! :) Anyhoos, nighty night!!

Hi Green...yep,  the phone thing is pretty out there. My phone ( they call it a phablet), is big too. I love that I can use it as a tablet too and it functions as a hot spot for my old kindle as well

.....Are you fling better today?...I hope so....these late in the game waves really take it out of me. My wave lifted but it left me tired and the head pressure is more on again off again rather than constant but the headache is still every morning...with varying intensities. Its difficult to stay on top of the health fears. ..I did go out with my daughter and my ex for lunch yesterday.  I had big head pressure and d/r but I enjoyed the day in spite of it but my attention was split between having fun with my family and my head s/x. That is what I hate about this so much...the extra ' voice ' of s/x demanding constant scanning and vigilance.

........Green, our big waves are going to get further and further apart ...this will get easier and our healing will become more consistent.  I still get frantic and crazed when I am in a wave too. I am looking forward to seeing what month 14 will bring...and in month 16 we will be thinking about spring. Next summer is bound to be the best summer we have seen in a good long time.

.....Thank you Green for all if the posts and replies you give to our group...even when you don't feel good. You keep us hopeful and moving forward. Sending you so much love and gratitude....coop

Coop, we're in the same place again, my wave lifted, and it left me very tired.  But somehow we manage to keep on going, put one foot in front of the other and gently push.  Yes, hopefully this was the last of the big waves :smitten:

Sky, so sorry for those bad days.  My last wave was hellish, almost as bad as acute.  Hoping this passes quickly, and that this is the last of the big waves. :smitten:

Life, I know you made a decision to keep some distance from the thread, and while I miss you, I respect that, but I want to thank you with all my heart for coming back and posting your message of hope.  Boy, did I ever need to hear that.  I'm so, so happy you're doing well.  This has been a long, hard journey for you.

I guys!

I copied this from another thread, not sure if its already been posted on here before but  thought I would share. Its very encouraging, it talks about the healing process taking 2 years and all the ups and down we experience along the way. Jenny :smitten:

http://www.addictionsandrecovery.org/post-acute-withdrawal.htm

Jenny, thanks for posting that.  I've been googling paws just under recover and addiction recently, and there was quite a bit of new information.  It is encouraging, because they see it all the time, with different drugs, alcohol, and the consensus is two years, and the vast majority get better.  That was a good link.  I'm glad you've been feeling better.

Thank you Coop! I guess I too need to focus on two years. Although I'm not as bad as acute I have days where I'm very close in different ways with different symptoms.

Great article that was posted, many positive helpful points. It mentions accute lasts no more than a few weeks at most,  that is very off for some of us..  that sounds more like heroin etc. I'm only speaking for my self but at 12 months I have plenty of physical symptoms. I will agree psycological ones are more prominent at this point though.

Patience is key,  how? I do not know,  the will to live I guess. This is torture, it's very difficult... I find Progressive Muscle Relaxation exercises to be a very powerful tool if done for 6 weeks or so.

Cheers,

Fonz

Good Morning ... got to sit here for another 3 hours or so and then off to the hospital for the biopsy ... I feel like I have just gone sort of mentally numb ... and maybe that is a good thing ... just go through the motions ... stay present ... and come home later ...

And everything will be fine ... from all I hear this is just a very routine procedure ... thank you all for your encouragement ...

Have a good Monday, Folks ...

Talk later ...

:smitten:
