Hi Everyone,

 

Just a quick stopover to say hello and give some POSITIVE news.  I entered a competition here in Australia to have a portrait of your dog 'immortalised' on a wall at Bondi Beach.  Bondi Beach is the hip, funky and fashionable place in Sydney.  My little old girl 'Fat Flea' has been shortlisted in the final 12.  When I logged on this morning, I was so surprised and happy, I shocked myself that I could feel 'happy' again for just a short while.  Gratitude.

 

It would be such a lovely thing if we won, but there is some very stiff competition.

I really do think you are rite!  I think fat flea has a very strong chance at winning.  I really do.  I just love that picture of her.  So cute and special.  I really don't see much competition here.  Your dog will most likely win this contest.

Guess what?  We won.  Fat Flea will be featured at the wall facing Bondi Beach, the mural goes up in the next 2 weeks.  What a great lift it has given my husband and I after a very challenging 18 months.  Thankful for small mercies and lets me believe  that life is there waiting for me. 

 

So excited for a rescue dog to be the face of Bondi.

Don't know your circumstances of the last 18 months, but Sydney is pretty stressy now & very expensive & all foreigners,it seems that the Aussie is hard to spot.  Harlequin has dog sitters so hope they look after him, they have got the whole house for free & seem responsible. Harlequin always gets along with staffys, though smaller than him he plays well with them but not so well with e.g. Germain Shepards.

Oh Wow Ara, off to SE Asia, have a wonderful trip.  I am jealous just thinking about it.  I am sure Harlequin will be spoilt rotten by his sitters.  We have quite a few Dallies who visit the local dog park and they all seem to love the Staffies too, there is one girl called 'Spotter' who loves on all the dogs in the park, except one big Ridgey boy, whom she hates with a passion.

IF DOGS COULD SPEAK

 

She has made another cut God damn those drugs, she’s crying all day long

They are evil little things she cant do right for doing wrong.

Everything She’s done today, she has made a rotten mess

Dropping things and stumbling tripped over me, my names Tess.

 

I looked up at her I could read her mind saying here we go again

My bloomin owners mood swings are driving me insane.

She sat and stroked me all day long just a couple of days ago

I can’t help her that’s for sure I’m a DOG in case you didn’t know.

 

Hope she stays out of the kitchen coz she’s going to get burned

She’s forgetful and she spills things I am really quite concerned.

She will be fine when she gets on the internet with her benzo friends

Yes she might be better tomorrow then she will make amends.

 

Because she will spoil me rotten and stroke me all day long again

I know I will get my own way she will even walk me in the rain.

I must say she’s a lot better Its not everyday I see her tears

Every now and then she flips but she’s still better than she’s been in years.

 

I would never swap her for an owner who's exactly the same every day

Kind of like life a little bit colourful wouldn’t like every day to be grey.

She’s done well since she started to taper I now the pain she has been through

And I love her as much as a dog can and I know that she loves me too.

With all the house training, energy required to train and discipline, etc., would it be irresponsible/stupid to get a puppy while going through w/d's? I've been thinking about getting a dog somewhere in the 10-20lb range. Something like a Benji dog if possible. An indoor dog.

 

I have an outside dog and two indoor cats. My outdoor dog is losing the use of her back legs and won't be around anymore soon, I'm afraid.

 

What do you guys think?

I don't think this page is for exclusively dogs and puppies, I for one wouldn't mind seeing other pets, this page has been quiet for some time so something new might invigorate the postings.  When I post I use photo bucket, are you familiar with this programme?

Hi 2zazapam65, you could start your own bird thread if you wish, I am sure other buddies here have photos of birds, I don't have a bird but I adore them. You could have a thread for adorable Pets/Animals, that lets everyone join in.
